Overdose deaths are on the rise in the US, especially among American Indian, Alaskan Native, and Black communities. This talk examines how historical disparities and housing instability contribute to health risks, using data from addiction treatment services in Southeast Michigan (USA). The talk will discuss findings on trauma, addiction, incarceration, and housing insecurity, highlighting the need for policy changes to address health disparities in vulnerable populations.
