Omar Ismail Alansari


Omar Ismail Alansari, a full time PhD student at Queen’s University Belfast - School of Law, is working on a thesis which looks at the need for and the feasibility of global registration of stateless persons as a first step to tackle statelessness.  This research studies the extent to which establishing a global uniform ID for the stateless is necessary to (1) protect the rights of the stateless and (2) to reduce statelessness? The working title of his thesis is: “Identity without Citizenship: Towards Global Uniform Registration of the Stateless.”

Mr Alansari is from Saudi Arabia, and he is now in a long-term leave from his employer: Saudi Electronic University, at which he works as a lecturer in law.  Mr Alansari is specialized and interested in Sharia Law (Islamic Law), International Law and Human Rights.
