Stephen Livingstone Studentship
In honour of our late colleague, Professor Stephen Livingstone (1961-2004), the School of Law at Queen’s University has established a studentship in the areas of human rights law or public law. This fund is supported also by donations from Stephen’s family and friends. Stephen was Professor of Human Rights Law, a former Head of the School of Law and Director of the Human Rights Centre, as well as a renowned human rights activist and Commissioner on the Northern Ireland Equality Commission.
To be eligible for this fees-only studentship the applicant must
- be designated UK/EU for fees purposes
- ideally be a graduate with experience of working in a human rights based NGO or similar organisation either in the EU or beyond
- have been accepted on to the LLM Human Rights Law in QUB Law School commencing September 2018 on a full-time basis (note: not the LLM in Human Rights and Criminal Justice).
The successful applicant will receive an award which will cover UK/EU fees for the academic year.
Applicants should complete the online application for study form and should submit a letter which outlines how they are best qualified for this award and how the proposed research would contribute to theory in practice in the specified area.
