School gains a Bronze Athena SWAN Award

1 October, 2018

This Award recognises the School's commitment to gender equality among all staff and students and work undertaken to address challenges in this area.

The School is delighted to announce that it has been awarded a Bronze Athena SWAN Award. This Award recognises the School's commitment to gender equality among all staff and students and work undertaken to address challenges in this area. The Award application was led by SWAN Champion, Dr Kathryn McNeilly and the School's Self-Assessment Team.

Dr McNeilly says 'our Bronze Award is recognition of a significant period of self-assessment in the School over the past two years and makes visible the School's embedding of equality and inclusion in all aspects of life for staff and students. We look forward to continuing work in this area in the coming months and years'. The School's application was noted by Advance HE as one of the strongest submissions in this year's award round.
