External Mooting teams selected

Participants in the oral argument selection exercise for external mooting competitions are pictured here with Conor Lockhart, Student Mooting Officer, and one of the judges, Cringe J. All participants had made it through two preliminary selection stages, a research exercise and a skeleton argument, before they mooted a Criminal Law appellate case before Philip Aldworth QC and Cringe J.
The standard of oral argument was extremely high and the judges commented very favourably on everyone’s performance. First picks for the OUP and Essex Court mooting competitions are Sarah Gallen, Morgan Hickman, Chloe Hanna and Shea Glasgow. Second picks (for other competitions) are Cormac Manning, Lillian Pollack, Matthew Thompson and Lucy Bill. It is hoped that there will also be opportunities for the other participants, Madeleine Huber, Conor McCann, Jo Yi Mok and Eve Lyn Chook, later this year. The event lasted from 7pm to 11pm on Thursday 25th October and was a most enjoyable occasion.
