Schrödinger’s smart city
Keynote lecture at IIEA in Dublin

Prof. Daithí Mac Síthigh gave a lecture at the Institute for International and European Affairs (IIEA) in Dublin on 21 January. His topic 'Schrödinger’s smart city: surveillance, social credit, and sustainability' drew upon his recent visit to the United States as an Eisenhower Fellow, and research published in the Modern Law Review (co-authored with Mathias Siems) on the 'social credit systems' under development in China. The talk encompassed issues ranging from facial recognition technology to mobility service data to rating and reputation systems.
