FinTru Assured Skills Training Programme
Over recent years, Northern Ireland has become a highly attractive location for commercial law and financial firms. Supported by the decentralisation of the City of London’s financial and related services industry as well as by the FinTech revolution, the region is now highly attractive for investment in these areas, offering unique new local employment opportunities for law graduates in an excellent, global, and highly dynamic business environment.
The Department for the Economy supports this crucial economic development agenda and the well-paid jobs for Northern Ireland by funding Assured Skills Academies. Since 2020, Dr Dieter Pesendorfer has been involved under this scheme in the delivery of the FinTru Legal Assured Skills Academy, which is currently running over six weeks annually between September and October. FinTru is a multi-award winning RegTech company working with some of the world’s largest investment banks.
The Legal Academy offers highly specialised legal training to 20+ programme participants who are selected by FinTru and guaranteed an interview for a position with FinTru. Based on our specialisation in financial and commercial law, the Law School provides the ‘hard skills’ training on the legal issues related to financial services, financial derivatives, securities lending and repurchase agreements which form key business areas of FinTrU within their services for leading international investment banks. As Assured Skills Academies have generally a strong track record of providing high quality training that is of key significance to local businesses’ success and growth, the Law School’s engagement in the FinTru Legal Academy is making an important contribution to Northern Irelands community.
