Shape the Future of Legal Research — Apply for a Leverhulme Early Career Fellowship
The Leverhulme ECR Fellowship scheme has now opened for this academic year.

The School of Law invites expressions of interest (EOIs) from early-career researchers proposing to undertake original, innovative, and high-quality research through the Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellowship.
The scheme offers funding for outstanding early-career researchers who have not yet held a full-time permanent post in a UK university. Fellowships are funded for three years, including salary costs and research expenses of up to £6,000 p.a.
Potential applicants should make contact with their proposed mentor in the School for advice prior to submission of an EOI. Staff profiles can be found on the school's webpages. When contacting staff, applicants should clearly state why their proposed research is relevant to the chosen department.
EOI forms can be accessed through the Apply Now button on the AHSS Faculty Research page and should be submitted to Heather Kinning at h.kinning@qub.ac.uk by 5pm on 5 November 2025.
Those selected for submission will be informed in the week beginning 15 December 2025 in order to leave adequate time to prepare the application in advance of the funder's deadline of 19 February 2026.
